Overview

Publisher is an independent publication. We collect as little information as we can, we never sell it, and we only use it to run the site and to send the newsletter you ask for.

Information we collect

Newsletter. When you subscribe, we collect your email address so we can send you the issue.

Analytics. We use privacy-friendly analytics to learn which articles are read. This data is aggregated and does not identify you.

Messages. If you email us, we keep your message and your address so we can reply.

How we use your information

We use the information above to send the newsletter, to answer your messages, to understand which stories are useful so we can improve them, and to keep the site secure. We do not use your information for advertising.

Cookies

This site only uses the cookies and similar storage needed to load pages and to measure traffic in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the site will keep working.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site and the newsletter, such as hosting and email delivery, and only as much as they need to do that work.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Messages are kept for up to 24 months unless we are required to keep them longer.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. You can also ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and we will reply within 30 days.

Children

Publisher is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell newsletter subscribers by email.
